Celebrating 20 Years of 2nd Chances
A lot has changed since 2006, but one thing that hasn’t is the people who make Cornerstone Crossroads Academy special. CCA is celebrating 20 years, and we want to remember the people and stories that made CCA what it is today.
Walk Down Memory Lane
From major milestones to memorable moments, here are some of the significant happenings throughout CCA’s history.
2006 - CCA was founded by Jim and Jane Beckett. When volunteering in a juvenile detention center, they began to see the massive need for education for students who had gone through the system. They started CCA on the campus of Cornerstone Baptist Church as a program for boys coming out of jail.
2008 - The Becketts began to search for a professional educator to join the staff. After praying for a school like CCA, Kristi Lichtenberg joined the CCA staff as the Principal.
2014 - CCA completed the accreditation process with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
2018 - CCA students and staff had the opportunity to go on the school's first mission trip to Guatemala through HELPS International.
2018 - In projecting future growth, CCA began looking for a full-time principal. Wayne Sims joined the staff as the Principal after serving with Teach for America and teaching at KIPP Academy.

Graduates and former staff are invited to reminisce and reconnect with old friends, meet current Warriors, and tour our new home, the historic Phillis Wheatley School campus. Enjoy light bites, Christmas family portraits, and the opportunity to add your own story to our 20th anniversary archives.
