Forward Together Campaign
Cornerstone Crossroads Academy at the Phillis Wheatley School
Renewing Hope, Restoring History
Renewing hope to students and the Wheatley neighborhood through transformative education, economic empowerment, and supportive community.
Investing in the future by restoring a historic space.
With new purpose, Cornerstone Crossroads Academy scholars consistently complete high school and are equipped as resilient servant leaders in their communities.
Like our students, we are at a crossroads. With a move to the historic Phillis Wheatley campus, we can enroll and help more students graduate, plus extend much-needed resources to alumni. With our South Dallas community, generous donors and dedicated volunteers, we know we can move forward together to support youth on the path to a purposeful future.
95%
of Cornerstone Crossroads Academy graduates are working, in college or vocational school or are serving in the military.
Cultivating Community: Moving Forward Together
A larger, well-equipped school will allow Cornerstone Crossroads Academy to accommodate more students, create a safe, professional atmosphere more conducive to learning, and expand post-graduate resources while strengthening ties between the community, students, supporters and volunteers.
Serving More Students, Changing More Lives
We will increase our capacity from 25 students to 40 and evaluate annual incremental growth. This intentional growth will maintain an 8:1 student-teacher ratio, ensuring focused, personalized attention for each scholar. We can also expand on-campus access to continued support for our graduates.
Elevating the Educational Environment
The fully renovated campus will provide a safer, more appropriate environment for school life, plus provide privacy for case management meetings and tutoring sessions. The campus will show scholars that their community believes in their potential.
Growing our Community of Support
We will have room to offer on-campus wraparound services, expand typical high school experiences, connect our scholars to the surrounding Wheatley Place neighborhood and create space to engage the broader community.
