The Portrait of a Graduate highlights the Expected Outcomes students will achieve while attending Cornerstone Crossroads Academy.

Students will demonstrate critical thinking skills that enable them to excel academically and pursue future career and education aspirations.

Through biblical teaching and discipleship students will develop a relationship and admiration for Christ.

Students will obtain 21st-century career and job readiness skills and certifications to equip them to improve their economic trajectory.

Students will demonstrate communication skills to help them problem-solve and collaborate to reach a common goal.

Students will demonstrate the ability to combat issues in their community by volunteering to help alleviate factors that are contributing to community issues.

Angelica, Class of 2020
Angelica recently graduated from East Texas A&M University with her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, all while working and raising her daughter.
Angelica plans to continue her studies in a social work master’s program.

Braylon, Class of 2024
Braylon is currently serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Japan.
At graduation, Braylon was honored with the Warrior Award, which is awarded to students who exemplify the character qualities we value at CCA: action oriented, committed, dependable, humble, organized, positive, thankful, truth seeker, warrior – fighting injustice, inertia, apathy, and ignorance.
After graduating, he participated in our summer internship program with the Rees Jones Foundation, where he gained valuable work experience and professional skills.

Detric, Class of 2024
Detric earned the distinct honor of being our 2024 valedictorian. Shortly after graduating from CCA, Detric also graduated from the Dallas Leadership Foundation’s Workforce Development Program.
Through his vocational training with the Dallas Leadership Foundation, Detric earned the following certifications: TDLR Apprentice Electrician, NCCER, Osha 30-Hour, and Oasis Job Readiness.

Don, Class of 2023
After graduating from CCA, Don enrolled at nearby Paul Quinn College. He is interested in pursuing a law degree after completing his bachelor’s degree.
During his time at CCA, Don won the Dallas Bar Association Law Day contest andwas recognized for his photographic representation of civility and democracy.
He also participated in our summer internship program in partnership with The Rees-Jones Foundation where he had the opportunity to collaborate with other students and learn new work skills. At graduation, Don received the Beckett Award, named after our founders Jim and Jane Beckett.

Ebony, Class of 2019
Ebony completed her Certified Residential Medical Assistant (CRMA) training in 2023, and she didn’t stop there. She’s currently back in school studying radiology as she continues advancing her career in healthcare.

Jamal, Class of 2015
Jamal came to CCA through our community partners, the Men of Nehemiah. He earned his diploma at CCA and began working full-time. Later, Jamal returned to CCA to lead the Student Work Program.
A few years later, Jamal founded Cultivators Enterprises, where he provides demo & debris removal services. Through his business, he has hired men in the community, including other CCA graduates.

Martin, Class of 2013
Martin is a Recruiter in the U.S. Army and has achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He is a member of CCA’s Campus Improvement Team.

Nathan, Class of 2019
Nathan earned the highest ranking GPA and was our 2019 valedictorian. After graduating from CCA, Nathan participated in an intership program with Just Works Skills, an IT-based mentoring and training program.
Through the Just Works Skills program, Nathan developed Salesforce skills and became a Junior Business Analyst.

River, Class of 2023
River earned his driver’s license while enrolled at CCA through our partnership with South Dallas Driving Academy (SDDA).
He went on to complete SDDA’s Commercial Driver’s License Program the following year, and in 2025, River was hired as a professional driver by Covenant Transport.

Tarah, Class of 2025
Tarah has recently begun her journey in the U.S. Navy.
As a CCA student, Tarah explored her interest in storytelling through a journalism fellowship with our community partner Dallas Doing Good and was also a member of the CCA Gardening Club.

Tiara, Class of 2021
Tiara took full advantage of opportunities available through CCA partnerships. She participated in the Rees-Jones summer internship, where she gained valuable job skills.
Tiara also participated in the Just Works Skills internship program, where she became certified in Webflow web design and development. Through her work with Just Works Skills, Tiara was hired by Topgolf’s accounting department.

Zeslie, Class of 2021
Zeslie participated in the Rees-Jones summer intership at CCA. She also participated in the Just Works Skills internship. Through this program, she became a Junior Business Analyst and received her Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) certification.
